Recycle Curbside
A few haulers provide Curbside Recycling in Clark County. Be sure to check with your hauler for a list of recyclable items collected by their program as well as specific preparation instructions, costs and discounts.
For all recycling programs, CAREFULLY FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. Do not include items that are not listed. The following section describes what is collected by most Clark County curbside recycling programs.
Plastics
Plastics are marked with code numbers that identify the type of plastic resin a product is made from. This number, located inside a recycling triangle on the product, makes it easier to sort plastics for recycling. In Clark County, plastics that may be recycled are:
WHAT: #1 (PETE)
soda bottles
HOW: Remove and discard caps; rinse and flatten
WHAT: #2 (HDPE) milk/water jugs, juice bottles, laundry containers, salad dressing bottles
HOW: Remove and discard caps; rinse and flatten
Plates or cups with a plastic coating
Plastics with the numbers 3, 4, 5, or 7
Rigid plastic containing the number 6 (forks, spoons, salad containers, etc.)
Containers used for motor oil, paint, solvents, lawn care products, or chemicals
Packing peanuts, shrink wrap or packing bubbles
Glass
WHAT: Green, brown and clear juice and soda bottles, food jars, beer and wine bottles
HOW: Remove lids; rinse well
DO NOT INCLUDE:
Drinking glasses or dishes
Light bulbs
Mirrors, window glass or broken glass
Metals
WHAT: Aluminum and steel aerosol spray cans, beverage cans, food cans, foil and pie pans
HOW: Remove labels; rinse well
DO NOT INCLUDE:
Chemical
Tools
Batteries
Paint containers
Hangers
Appliances
Aseptic
Cartons
WHAT: Drink and juice boxes, gable top containers such as milk, juice and creamer cartons
HOW: Remove straws and plastic caps; rinse and flatten.
Newsprint,
Magazines, Junk mail, Phone books
WHAT: Newspapers (including glossy inserts), Envelopes, inserts, ads and other mail
Place in brown paper bag (do not tie in bundles); drop bag in or near recycling containerHOW:

Books
Cardboard/Pressboard
WHAT: Corrugated cardboard, cereal and cracker boxes, soapboxes
HOW: Flatten and fold; place on bottom of, or next to, recycling
container

Soda cartons
Wax, foil, or plastic-covered boxes (such as used in freezing)
