Pay-As-You-Throw
Trash by the Bag:
Fewer Bags – Fewer Bucks
Why should you pay the same rate for trash collection as your neighbor who puts out six bags of trash when you only put out one bag of trash and a heap of recyclables? Pay-As-You-Throw trash collection allows us to get a handle on rising collection rates and pay only for what you actually throw away. It gives us an economic incentive to reduce, reuse and recycle.
Pay-As-You-Throw service is provided by several area haulers and allows those of us who produce less trash to pay less to have it collected. About 20% of all households in Clark County are now using a "bag system." Perhaps your household can benefit from this type of service.
The following haulers currently provide Pay-As-You-Throw service in Clark County. Each hauler provides the service a little differently. Most sell bags at local supermarkets. The cost for collection is completely built into the price of the bags- that’s all you pay! Each hauler provides curbside recycling to complement the program, but structures individual service a little differently. Even if you are charged for recycling service, it is at a lower rate than the regular trash service.
Contact these haulers for more information about Pay-As-You-Throw and consider your savings.
